BIA offers Panelist for Workshop for SCIE Chapter of ARMA

John Isaza, Esq., FAI and BIA’s SVP of Product, Alan Marks to Present Workshop on Legal Holds

NEW YORK CITY – February 17, 2014 – Business Intelligence Associates, Inc. (BIA), a leader in eDiscovery software and services solutions, today announced that Alan Marks, Senior Vice President of Product will take part in presenting a 4-hour workshop on legal holds titled “Workshop for Developing Litigation Holds,” for the Southern California Inland Empire (SCIE) ARMA Chapter with John Isaza, Esq., FAI.

The workshop is being held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, between 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm, and will offer a step-by-step approach to help governance professionals recognize when an organization should preserve records (both paper and electronic) related to government investigations or litigation. Participants will be able to study factual scenarios taken from known cases in order to analyze trigger events, and take a systematic approach to investigating and issuing the legal hold, as well as identifying and preserving evidence. The program is interactive, and will discuss state-of-the-art technology, and offer the opportunity or participants to participate in a mock legal hold questionnaire and a hold process using an anonymous tool currently on the market!

Alan has over 20 of years’ experience in the software industry and has worked for a number of top software firms such as Microsoft, HP, SAP and Adobe on a wide range of projects, and has been granted three U.S. Patents.

Alan originally joined BIA as Director, Software Development in 2006, he held that position for over one year, during which time he created a product plan, hired a new team and built a process. More recently, in January 2013, Alan came back to BIA as a VP of Products; and was promoted to SVP of Products in Fall 2013, in this role, Alan is focused on managing TotalDiscovery’s product roadmap, connecting with clients (current and potential), managing Product Support and overseeing the delivery of product updates and features to TotalDiscovery users.

Alan holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
